Whole Wheat Kernels – the inside scoop

Did you ever consider that grains and beans are the seeds of the plant as well as the fruit? The seed of the plant contains all of the life-giving nutrients.
This is why it is so important to your diets. Wheat is a grain that may well have been the very first crop in history. A simple wheat kernel is a phenomenal display of God’s majesty.
There are three parts of the wheat kernel: bran, germ and endosperm.
The bran is the outer surface which perfectly stores and protects the nutrients within. Most of our fiber comes from the bran and when combined with water it increases in size, like a sponge, and sweeps our intestinal tract clean, eliminating toxins.
The germ is the seed within the wheat kernel that contains the wheat germ oil. The germ, our richest known source of Vitamin E, is an antioxidant hat covers and protects every cell in our body. When Vitamin E is deficient, cells break down faster than the body can reproduce them. The germ is also rich in Vitamin B vitamins, trace minerals and phytochemicals.
The endosperm is the inner portion of the wheat kernel that provides energy and protein.
